The mission of the Pauma Reservation Fire Department is to be “Dedicated To Customer Service” by providing emergency services to protect the lives and property of tribal citizens, employees, guests and neighbors of the Pauma Band of Luiseño Indians. The Pauma Reservation Fire Department will always be dedicated to safeguarding the tribe's environmental, cultural and economic resources.
The Pauma Reservation Fire Department is a 12-person, full-time professional fire department that primarily serves the Pauma Reservation and the 86,000-square-foot Pauma Casino. The Pauma Reservation Fire Department has mutual aid agreements with CAL FIRE and the Pala and Rincon Reservation Fire Departments. The Pauma Reservation Fire Department works a 56-hour week, which consists of two days on and four days off. Our full-time staff is also augmented by our reserve firefighters, who work on a part-time, voluntary basis.
Construction of our state-of-the-art fire station, located at 800 Pauma Reservation Road, was completed in October of 2009. Our fire station has a 2009 Seagrave Type 1 fire engine, and on-duty fire personnel cross-staff a 1988 Ford Type 3 brush fire engine. We average approximately 200 emergency responses per year.
The Pauma Reservation Fire Department's dedicated professionals have successfully changed and significantly improved fire service in our community. We remain committed to providing our customers with a regular overview of our many exciting accomplishments, and we continue to strive for excellence in the service that we provide.
We are delighted to report that our enormous progress is the direct result of a dedicated team of professional, career and reserve fire personnel. They are equally committed to improving the emergency services provided to you. We pledge that this progress will continue and ultimately bring you the best possible customer service.
